"On behalf of the NAIG 2027 Host Society Board, we are thrilled to welcome Lowa Beebe as our CEO. As the newly appointed Chair of the Host Society Board, I can confidently say that after an extensive search process, Lowa stood out as the clear leader who could guide us to success. Her vision, leadership, and unwavering commitment to Indigenous youth and community empowerment align perfectly with the values of the Games. We believe she will elevate NAIG 2027 to new heights, ensuring it leaves a lasting legacy of cultural celebration and athletic excellence." Shannon Dunfield, Chair of the NAIG 2027 Host Society.

Lowa holds an MBA in Community Economic Development and Strategic Leadership, strengthening her leadership credentials in organizing large-scale, community-focused events. Having previously served on key national and provincial boards and committees, Lowa Beebe’s insights into Indigenous governance and inter-cultural relations are invaluable as she leads NAIG 2027.

The North American Indigenous Games are held every four years and bring together over 5,000 Indigenous youth from across Canada and the United States. Athletes compete in various sports, from traditional Indigenous sports such as lacrosse to popular events like track and field, all while celebrating and honouring their cultural heritage.

As one of Canada's fastest-growing and most diverse cities, Calgary is well-known for its rich history, vibrant arts scene, and breathtaking proximity to the Rocky Mountains. The city is a hub for sports and culture, hosting major international events such as the 1988 Winter Olympics and Special Olympics 2024 and home to iconic venues like the Saddledome and McMahon Stadium.

"I am honoured to lead NAIG 2027 and I am committed to creating an event that highlights the incredible talents of our Indigenous athletes while showcasing the culture of the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities in Alberta," Lowa said. "Our goal is to create a space where sport, culture, and reconciliation unite to inspire future generations."
