Carter Wilson, CPA, PMP, is an accomplished finance professional with a strong commitment to supporting Indigenous organizations in building sustainable financial capacity. A proud member of Peguis First Nation, Carter holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) in Accounting and Finance from the University of Manitoba and has completed executive education at Harvard Business School. Over his career, Carter has held various roles across both the public and private sectors, gaining experience in accounting, human resources, and operations management. Since transitioning to MNP’s Ease Indigenous Services team, he has worked exclusively with Indigenous clients, leading projects that include financial assessments, software implementations, policy development, and capacity building for First Nations governments and organizations.
Carter’s notable achievements include leading successful financial software transitions for Indigenous child and family services agencies, advising on complex financial negotiations with federal and provincial governments, and developing financial policies aligned with Indigenous governance structures. His work ensures that financial systems and processes are not only efficient but culturally relevant and sustainable. In addition to his professional career, Carter has made significant contributions in the non-profit sector, serving as Treasurer on the boards of Ka Ni Kanichihk and the Chief Peguis Investment Corporation, where his expertise in financial governance has been instrumental in strengthening organizational resilience.
